Payment processing behind Fusebox

Fusebox is Elavon's enterprise payment gateway: multi lane, with tokenization built in for the hospitality, retail and venue environments that need it. Kubera deploys payment acceptance behind Fusebox installs across Canada, from boarding and device rollout to configuration, training and a cutover with no downtime.

What Fusebox is

Fusebox is the enterprise gateway Elavon built for businesses running many lanes across many sites: hotel groups, restaurant groups, retailers and venues whose point of sale or property management system needs one connection to the processing side rather than a separate integration at every till.

It is multi lane, so one gateway configuration serves every lane and location under it. And it tokenizes, which is what lets a folio, a tab or a returning customer be charged later without the business ever holding the card number.

What we deploy behind it

Kubera is not the gateway. We deploy the payment acceptance that runs behind it. In a Fusebox environment that means boarding the merchant account, deploying and configuring the payment devices on each lane, setting the gateway configuration so that every lane and location reports the way head office expects, and training the people who open the day and close the batches.

The cutover runs with no downtime. The workflow on the floor does not change: the same prompt appears on the same device, and the business system never touches a card number. Fusebox is Elavon's gateway, and the acquiring side of the story is on our Elavon page.

Two ways we work with Fusebox

If you already run Fusebox, you almost certainly run Elavon acquiring behind it. Kubera is a registered agent of Elavon Canada Company, so we can update your merchant account at a lower cost with no hardware change, no integration change, and nothing your staff can see. You submit an updated application with us, and the merchant account changes on the back end. A recent statement is enough for us to show you, in writing, what the updated account would look like behind the same install.

If you are moving to Fusebox, usually because a new point of sale or property management system integrates with it, we run the deployment end to end. These are the deployments where the relationship is built, and the right first step is an exploratory call rather than a statement.

Who Fusebox suits

Fusebox is built for scale: hotel and resort groups settling folios across properties, restaurant groups with many lanes, retailers with many tills, and venues and campuses running several kinds of point of sale at once. A single site with one till usually does not need an enterprise gateway, and we say so. For the businesses that do, deploying the acceptance layer behind Fusebox rather than around it is what keeps the workflow and the reporting intact, and keeps card data out of the business system.

Ask about your system

The list of systems that connect to Fusebox is available on request. Tell us which point of sale, property management or ticketing system you run and we will confirm whether it connects, and what the deployment behind it would involve.

Common questions

Is Kubera a Fusebox partner or reseller?

Yes. Fusebox is Elavon's enterprise gateway, and Kubera Premium Corporation is a registered agent of Elavon Canada Company. We deploy Fusebox environments and the acquiring behind them, and for existing Fusebox merchants we can update the merchant account without touching the install.

Does deploying behind Fusebox mean replacing my point of sale?

No. We do not replace point of sale or property management systems. The acceptance layer goes in behind the system you already run, and the cutover is planned so there is no downtime.

Which systems connect to Fusebox?

The list is available on request. Tell us which point of sale, property management or ticketing system you run and we confirm the fit before anything is scheduled.

Can one Fusebox deployment cover several locations?

That is what a multi lane gateway is for. One configuration serves the lanes and locations under it. How your own sites are grouped, and how they report, is decided during planning.
